No Country For Old Men 2007 DVDSCR Xvid

Heath Ledger had been in talks to play Llewelyn Moss, but withdrew to take "some time off" instead.

"No Country for Old Men", the title of the novel the film is based on is taken from W.B. Yeats' poem, "Sailing to Byzantium".

For mostly budgetary reasons, the film was shot mostly in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Tommy Lee Jones convinced the Coen Brothers to film some scenes on location in West Texas.

The Coen Brothers used a photo of a brothel patron taken in 1979 as a model for Anton Chigurh's hair style. Looking at its weirdness after getting the hair cut, Javier Bardem said "Oh no, now I won't get laid for the next two months".

Contrary to most successful films made from books, much of the film's action is taken word for word from Cormac McCarthy's novel and to boot occurs in the same order of events. Bell's final speech in the film, for instance, can be read on the final page of the book.

The drugstore that Chigurh enters after blowing up the car is called the Mike Zoss Pharmacy. This is a reference to Mike Zoss Drugs, a pharmacy in Minneapolis where the Coen Brothers enjoyed spending time in their youth. The Coen Brothers also named their production company Mike Zoss Productions.

The Coen brothers purchased specially made fake blood that they shipped from London to their location for 800 dollars a gallon. This was done so the extras that were lying in the sand for hours wouldn't be attacked by bugs and animals that might otherwise be attracted to the sugar.

Joel Coen and Ethan Coen refused to give Josh Brolin an audition for the movie, so he asked director Robert Rodriguez to help him shoot an audition tape. Rodriguez shot and Quentin Tarantino directed the tape, which was shot in a $950,000 digital camera.

Director Trademark: [Joel Coen] [Stanley Kubrick] Coen Brothers often reference Stanley Kubrick in their works. In this movie, Llewelyn Moss was killed in room #114, a number seen repeatedly in Kurick's films.

Romanian Physicist Bends Light with LCD - How to bend light::

We've thought to accept the light travels in the universe in a straight trajectory. However, this statement isn't entirely true. Albert Einstein predicted through his Theory of Relativity, that in fact light passing through a curved area of space would be slightly bent. This process usually takes place due to powerful gravitational fields produced by massive bodies, such as stars, and black hole, or a huge accumulation of mass, like a galaxy for example.

Such massive objects produce a severe space-time warp in the fabric of the universe, generating the gravitational lensing effect, which is generally used in astronomy to view distant cosmic structures, by
pointing the telescopes in the direction of the gravitational lens, which provides an amplification of light.
However, the fact that powerful gravitational fields are needed in order to obtain this light bending effect poses mankind with an inability to take advantage of it, since we don't have yet the capability of manipulating gravity for our own purposes.

Nevertheless, Romanian physicist Aristide Dogariu, researcher at the University of Central Florida, in collaboration with Demetrios Christodoulides seems to have gone around the gravitational fields problem, by using a simple Liquid Crystal Diode screen to bend light. LCD screens are mostly used as displays for multiple electronic devices, such as computers or mobile phones, however, the LCD device used by the researchers was especially designed to control how light passed through it, thus bending it in the process.

The half of million pixel LCD produces a one-millimeter bend in the trajectory of light, while shined with a half-inch wide laser beam, passing through a 35-centimeter stretch of the screen. The special configuration of the LCD screen causes the light to travel through it and to bend in the brightest area of the beam, as light interferes with itself.

Light bending techniques present special interest, for they might provide the technology to develop new communication mediums, advances in microscopes, and probably could trigger a new digital age.

I recommend all to watch this film for sure. Its one of the best film I have seen after such a long time. The concept was very interesting and left me to think for a while.
