Mega Man X5 Secrets and Codes (PSX) - Ultimate Armor X and Armor Zero

Mega Man X5 is the fifth main game in the Mega Man X series by Capcom. It was released in 2000 for the PlayStation, three years after Mega Man X4, and in 2002 for PC. This was re-released on January 10, 2006 as part of the Mega Man X Collection for the GameCube and PlayStation 2. Set an indeterminate amount of time after the events of Mega Man X4, a new plot to destroy the Maverick Hunters is hatched by Sigma, who has been revived again (as in X4, it is unknown who revived him or how). Sigma, after conducting research on the origin and design of Zero, decides to discover how to unlock Zero's true power, hopefully destroying X in
the process.

Sigma attacks the Maverick Hunters directly, intending to lose. When he does, he spreads a Maverick virus across the Earth, throwing it into chaos. Meanwhile, a Reploid mercenary named Dynamo is hired by Sigma to make the Space Colony Eurasia collide with Earth. The Hunters have only 16 hours to avoid collision. In order to prevent Eurasia from striking the planet, the Hunters pursue two options of attack. (Wikipedia)

Codes

Cheat Codes
Enter this code at the character select screen:

Put the cursor on X and press "Up" twice then press "Down" nine times - Ultimate Armor X

Put the cursor on Zero and press "Down" twice, then press "Up" nine times - Ultimate Armor Zero

Unlockables

Ultimate Armors
In the 3rd Sigma stage, when you reach a gap with a single lift that won't fall when you stand on it, slide down the right wall and eventually move through the wall. There is a special secret capsule there.

Black Zero - Come to special capsule with Zero

Ultimate Armor X - Come to special capsule with Unarmored X

Secrets

Beginning the game with X's Force Armor
Before each level in Mega Man X5, you're given a choice of which character to use. You only have X and Zero available to you at the start, though you can unlock a third character of sorts right when the game begins.

If you begin the game as X, you'll automatically unlock the Force Armor, a replica of a fully upgraded X from Mega Man X4, as being available to use in the game's levels. Given how difficult Mega Man X5 is, the Force Armor is a nice recourse to use should you ever get stuck - though it's recommended that you only use the Force Armor if you're truly stuck, as it takes virtually all challenge out of a level when you decide to use it.

NEws Tips:::

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire Hints (PC) - Defeat Voldemort and other hints:--

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire follows the three main characters of the movie — namely Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley — and there is an entirely new spell-casting system that will allow for collaborative spells. The characters themselves will more closely resemble their movie counterparts than in previous games. It also has higher-quality graphics than the rest of the Harry Potter video games. However, the gameplay in the fourth video game is much more action-oriented, which is a change from the
previous games.

Also, players can play the game with friends, and can combine their magic and spells to make them more powerful. Players can also capture moving beans using Accio and increase their power with collector's creature and character cards. There is no RPG iteration of the game, unlike with previous titles. (Wikipedia)

HINTS

Carpe Retractum
For advanced spell casters, when you are pulling the control stick in the direction you want to pull, wiggle it around that point. You will find that your Carpe Retractum spell is quicker at pulling. The best place to try this is the Prefect's Bathroom.

Game play movie
When the screen telling you to press any key appears, wait for awhile. A game play movie will eventually begin.

Defeating Voldemort
After the third task, when Harry is alone against Voldemort, you first need to kill all the skeletons, before and after you link wands. When Voldemort is hurling the statue at you, dodge it until it gets stuck in the ground for a few seconds then hit it with the giant ball of light that is coming from the wands. Repeat this until all the limbs are off the statue and you will win.

Mr. Woodcock (2007) DVDRip

John Farley, author of a best-selling self-help book about letting go of the past, violates his own advice when he returns to his small hometown to receive the community's highest honor. While there, John learns, to his horror, that his widowed mother, Beverly, is engaged to be married to none other than Mr. Woodcock, the gym teacher whose sadistic exploits were the bane of John's youth. Abetted by his nerdy old pal, Nedderman, John plots to break-up the relationship.

Heretic 2 Cheats (PC) - All items, level select and other codes

Heretic II is a fantasy third-person shooter computer game developed by Raven Software and published by Activision in 1998 continuing the story of Corvus, the main character from its predecessor, Heretic.Using a modified Quake II engine, the game features a mix of a third-person camera with a first-person shooter's
action, making for a new gaming experience at the time.

While progressive, this was a controversial design decision among fans of the original title, a well-known first-person shooter built on the Doom engine. The score was composed by Kevin Schilder. The art design and some of the artwork itself were created by Brom. Heretic II was later ported to Linux by Loki Software and to the Amiga by Hyperion Entertainment. (Wikipedia)

Smiley Face (2007) DVD

One woman's day goes all to pot in this resinous comedy from independent filmmaker Gregg Araki. Jane (Anna Faris) is a college dropout and aspiring actress who suffers from a certain lack of ambition, doubtless reinforced by her fondness for marijuana. One morning, Jane wakes with a busy day ahead of her -- she has a big audition, she has to pay the electric bill on her apartment to prevent the power from being shut off, and she needs to pick up some pot after paying her debt to her dealer -- and decides to take the edge off her anxieties by getting a little stoned. Under the influence, the cupcakes her roommate Steve (Danny Masterson) has made for his friends to enjoy at the weekend's Sci-Fi convention look too good to resist, and she gobbles them down. What Jane doesn't realize until it's too late is that the baked goods were laced with some especially strong marijuana, and what starts as a pleasant buzz turns into a world-class high that refuses to go away. As Jane struggles to make her way through the day, fate keeps throwing her into strange and surreal situations involving police officers, Steve's lovesick best friend, and a rare original manuscript of -The Communist Manifesto. Smiley Face also stars Adam Brody, John Krasinski, Jane Lynch, Michael Hitchcock, John Cho and Roscoe Lee Browne.

Heli Attack 3 Cheats (PC) - All weapons, level select and other codes

Heli Attack 3 is a run-and-gun shooter game created by the company squarecircleco. and released on June 17, 2005. It is the third in the Heli Attack series of games in which the player takes on the role of a paratrooper who must travel through different locations or zones and use a wide array of different weapons to destroy a series of helicopters, or helis, whilst these enemies simultaneously attempt to harm and,
ultimately, kill the paratrooper.

There are sixteen different levels in Heli Attack 3; in earlier levels the helis are comparatively weak with inaccurate and low powered guns. As they progress through the game, the player must take on helis which are more difficult to destroy, and with weaponry that can cause considerable damage to their character's health. There are also a number of purely ground based enemies in the game; in early levels these have either weak weapons or none at all, but in later levels their aim is highly accurate and, if ignored, they pose a big threat to the health of the paratrooper.

Larva (2005)

Another evil conspiracy is in the works. This time it's a rich guy who owns a beef distibuting company, in league with genetic engineers, trying to make his product sell more, or better, or something. In any event, they're messing with the beef, by treating it with some kind of parasite. Guess what? Something goes wrong, and the parasites go on a rampage.

It's actually creepy and scary enough to work, in spite of the recycled plot devices. The movie offers exploding stomachs (Alien), the conspirators covering up their actions at the expense of more lives (X Files), dumb sheriffs (lots of movies), and dumber townspeople (also lots of movies). There's also lots of bloody bodies, both humans and creatures. The acting is fairly decent, and the quasi-bat like design of the rapidly proliferating monsters is ugly enough for this sort of flick. The action is paced rather well, gory scenes balanced with scientific analysis exposition, even some "Don't look behind that door!" type stuff. Of course, they run the obligatory victim mauling scenes, including the usual couple-making-out-gets-killed routine.

All in all, a capably managed low budget horror movie, which manages a fair number of good old fashioned scares.

tech News:

By manipulating a few photons, a team of scientists from Griffith University Center for Quantum Dynamics, has managed to measure a difference in length less than one ten thousandth of a width of a human hair. The principle consists of sending a single photon through the sample which needs to be measured, which will afterwards pass again for a number of times.

Even Dr Geoff Pryde, the man who created the technique, is surprised on how little amounts of light the measuring device uses. For example, the barcode reader used in supermarkets use about a few quadrillions of photons to make a scan and even a LED in stand-by can emit close to a trillion photons a second.

The process is somehow similar to the interferometry process of light used in many measuring techniques. Nevertheless, the process has been greatly improved by the Australian team of researchers, by pushing the photons to gather as much information while executing a pass through the sample, as Heisenberg's Principle of Uncertainty allows it to.

This means that this is the best measuring technique by using light interferometry up to date. The applications for such a device are clearly obvious and can be used in areas such a medical research, where faint amounts of light are needed to make certain measurements, without damaging a sensitive biological sample.

The first light interferometers were used by physicists to detect the so-called mysterious 'aether', which they believed was moving through. The measurements regarding the speeds at which we are moving through this aether revealed contradictory results. Finally, Albert Einstein formulated the Theory of Relativity, which postulated that actually light was composed of photon particles, thus resolving the aether paradox and revealing the fact that all there was is vacuum.

Higher precision measuring instruments are always needed to lead us to unexpected scientific discoveries that will turn us towards new technologies and applications.

The team is now hoping that they will be able to improve the measuring method by determining finer measurement to be made with a single photon of light. Though in principle this would be possible, the technological problems could make this effort futile.

The quantum physics from which the method derives can be a strange world where a single particle of matter can be in two places at the same time and take two different paths to the same destination point, which can be determined by knowing the difference in length between the two paths.

The method used by Griffith involves using a photon that will describe multiple trajectories through the sample, before it is sent towards the detector, thus amplifying the effect of the difference in path lengths to enable a better measuring resolution. The same principle of measurement can be applied for other quantities like speed and frequency.

No Country For Old Men 2007 DVDSCR Xvid

Heath Ledger had been in talks to play Llewelyn Moss, but withdrew to take "some time off" instead.

"No Country for Old Men", the title of the novel the film is based on is taken from W.B. Yeats' poem, "Sailing to Byzantium".

For mostly budgetary reasons, the film was shot mostly in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Tommy Lee Jones convinced the Coen Brothers to film some scenes on location in West Texas.

The Coen Brothers used a photo of a brothel patron taken in 1979 as a model for Anton Chigurh's hair style. Looking at its weirdness after getting the hair cut, Javier Bardem said "Oh no, now I won't get laid for the next two months".

Contrary to most successful films made from books, much of the film's action is taken word for word from Cormac McCarthy's novel and to boot occurs in the same order of events. Bell's final speech in the film, for instance, can be read on the final page of the book.

The drugstore that Chigurh enters after blowing up the car is called the Mike Zoss Pharmacy. This is a reference to Mike Zoss Drugs, a pharmacy in Minneapolis where the Coen Brothers enjoyed spending time in their youth. The Coen Brothers also named their production company Mike Zoss Productions.

The Coen brothers purchased specially made fake blood that they shipped from London to their location for 800 dollars a gallon. This was done so the extras that were lying in the sand for hours wouldn't be attacked by bugs and animals that might otherwise be attracted to the sugar.

Joel Coen and Ethan Coen refused to give Josh Brolin an audition for the movie, so he asked director Robert Rodriguez to help him shoot an audition tape. Rodriguez shot and Quentin Tarantino directed the tape, which was shot in a $950,000 digital camera.

Director Trademark: [Joel Coen] [Stanley Kubrick] Coen Brothers often reference Stanley Kubrick in their works. In this movie, Llewelyn Moss was killed in room #114, a number seen repeatedly in Kurick's films.

Romanian Physicist Bends Light with LCD - How to bend light::

We've thought to accept the light travels in the universe in a straight trajectory. However, this statement isn't entirely true. Albert Einstein predicted through his Theory of Relativity, that in fact light passing through a curved area of space would be slightly bent. This process usually takes place due to powerful gravitational fields produced by massive bodies, such as stars, and black hole, or a huge accumulation of mass, like a galaxy for example.

Such massive objects produce a severe space-time warp in the fabric of the universe, generating the gravitational lensing effect, which is generally used in astronomy to view distant cosmic structures, by
pointing the telescopes in the direction of the gravitational lens, which provides an amplification of light.
However, the fact that powerful gravitational fields are needed in order to obtain this light bending effect poses mankind with an inability to take advantage of it, since we don't have yet the capability of manipulating gravity for our own purposes.

Nevertheless, Romanian physicist Aristide Dogariu, researcher at the University of Central Florida, in collaboration with Demetrios Christodoulides seems to have gone around the gravitational fields problem, by using a simple Liquid Crystal Diode screen to bend light. LCD screens are mostly used as displays for multiple electronic devices, such as computers or mobile phones, however, the LCD device used by the researchers was especially designed to control how light passed through it, thus bending it in the process.

The half of million pixel LCD produces a one-millimeter bend in the trajectory of light, while shined with a half-inch wide laser beam, passing through a 35-centimeter stretch of the screen. The special configuration of the LCD screen causes the light to travel through it and to bend in the brightest area of the beam, as light interferes with itself.

Light bending techniques present special interest, for they might provide the technology to develop new communication mediums, advances in microscopes, and probably could trigger a new digital age.

When 4 year old Amanda McCready disappears from her home and the police make little headway in solving the case, the girl's aunt Beatrice McCready hires two private detectives Patrick Kenzie and Angie Gennaro. The detective freely admit that they have little experience with this type of case, but the family wants them for two reasons - they're not cops and they know the tough neighborhood in which they all live. As the case progresses, Kenzie and Gennaro face drug dealers, gangs and pedophiles. When they finally solve the case, they are faced with a moral dilemma that tears them apart. Written by garykmcd

Dorchester, one of the toughest neighborhoods in all of Boston, is no place for the weak or innocent. Its a territory defined by hard heads and even harder luck, its streets littered with broken families, hearts, dreams. When one of its own, a 4-year-old girl, goes missing, private investigators Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro don't want the case. But after pleas from the child's aunt, they open an investigation that will ultimately risk everything -- their relationship, their sanity, and even their lives -- to find a little girl-lost. How to Play Half-Life 2 on Ubuntu - The Orange Box on Gutsy Gibbon

Who says you can't play games on Linux? Of course you can! Well... not all of them, but at least some of the nicer ones, such as Half-Life 2, Counter Strike or Unreal Tournament. Today's guide will teach you, step-by-step, how to install and play Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2 (all part of the grandiose Orange Box) on Ubuntu 7.10 (Gusty Gibbon). I have to admit that I played and finished Half-Life 2 on a Windows PC, a few years ago (in late 2004) when I hadn’t even heard about Ubuntu, and I simply loved it. Now I want to finish Episode One and Two, on Ubuntu! Without any further introduction, here's what you need to get started:

• Wine
• The Orange Box

Copy the files

So, you've got your precious Orange Box? Good... it's time to copy the contents of the discs to your hard drive. First, create a folder in your home directory, then insert the first disc in your optical drive and copy all the files to the folder you've created earlier. Do the same with the second disc. In the end, the folder should have about 8 GB in size. In the mean time...

Install and configure Wine

If you don't have Wine installed, here's how to get the latest version:

1. Open a terminal (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and paste the following commands (one by one):

wget -q http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/387EE263.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -

sudo wget http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/sources.list.d/gutsy.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/winehq.list

sudo apt-get update

Then close the terminal window.

2. Go to Applications -> Add/Remove, make sure you select the "All available applications" option in the upper-right side of the window, search for wine and install it. When it's done, close the window.

3. Hit ALT+F2 and paste in the following command:

wine iexplore http://appdb.winehq.com/

Click 'Install' when prompted and when you'll see the "Wine Internet Explorer" window and WineHQ website, then you can close it.

4. Search on Google for the Tahoma font with the following string:

tahoma filetype:ttf

Save it on your desktop, then copy it in the wine fonts folder (/home/yourusername/.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts).

Tip: To see the .wine folder, go to View -> Show Hidden Files in your home directory.

Install The Orange Box

All you have to do now, is go to the folder where you have copied the Orange Box discs and double click the setup.exe file. Follow the instructions to install it! When it's over, it must be activated:

1. Input your CD Key
2. Log-in into your steam account
3. Select the games you want to install

When the installation is done (it will take 10-15 minutes) you will have a lot of icons on your desktop. Just double click the one you want to play... and remember to close the desktop effects (Right click on the desktop -> Change Desktop Background -> Visual Effects -> None) before you start a game!

Have fun playing these nice games and look below for some cool screenshots I've made while playing them! Merry Christmas!

I Am Legend 2007 REPACK DVDSCR XviD

Will Smith plays (as far as his character knows) the last man on earth, our hero, Robert Neville, a sole survivor of a world dominating virus created by man, that initially takes out 588 million people in 2009, and was originally created to somehow cure cancer. In 2012, Neville (a former scientist) dedicates his life to surviving for the sake of the human race, since he's somehow immune to the virus and those who have been infected, and attempts to find a cure. In order to find a cure, he seeks out the infected beings at night, who seem to have completely forgotten how to act human, their instincts and survival skills have become non-existent, and either takes them out to survive, or in some cases, drags them to his underground lab for research purposes, in hopes of correcting humankind's mistake. Written by Zack H.

Robert Neville is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable, and man-made. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone. Mutant victims of the plague -- The Infected -- lurk in the shadows... watching Neville's every move... waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But he knows he is outnumbered... and quickly running out of time. Written by Warner Bros. Pictures

Panasonic Preps A Whopping 150-Inch Plasma TV for CES 2008 - Larger than life TV

"Does size matter?" is a question that has created quite a lot of controversy over time, whether we’re talking about intimacy-related issues or the dimensions of television sets. Furthermore, it seems that the old habit of measuring whose "member" is bigger has gone beyond the premises of the locker-room and into the big
world of consumer electronics, because the most important manufacturers involved on the TV sets’ market
are constantly competing against each other in order to create the world’s largest displays. And it looks like the "best-endowed" player might be none other than Panasonic, or at least a future plasma model coming from the Japanese company.

Thus, according to sources quoted by the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun, it would seem that Matsushita has really managed to top the world record in the field of plasma displays, as it plans to roll out at CES 2008 the widest (read monstrous) such device, surpassing its own previous record (an 103-inch model). Furthermore, this particular PDP promises to be the world’s largest display, surpassing even Sharp’s 108-inch LCD panel prototype.

But just how big are 150 inches? Well, the actual display area associated with this phenomenal size is about two meters by about 3.5 meters. In other words, it is big enough to display a full-scale adult. Just imagine the possibilities….

As you were able to read in an earlier article, Matsushita has also just announced a strategic partnership with Hitachi and Canon, which will most likely seriously enhance the company’s production and research capabilities. In light of this move, the claims made by the same sources mentioned earlier, namely that Matsushita’s monster 150-inch PDP will actually hit the shelves at some point in 2009, are not that exaggerated.

However, as you might imagine, there’s a twist to this whole story. Thus, if we take into consideration the fact that the 103-inch PDP from Panasonic retails for around 6 million yen (53,000 US dollars), you can only imagine just how expensive the 150-inch behemoth will be! Actually, if we speak only in terms of dollars per inch, the new PDP should sell for at least…80,000 US dollars, which is more expensive than a decent apartment.

National Treasure Book Of Secrets 2007 CAM Xvid

While Ben is presenting new information about John Wilkes Booth and the 18 pages missing from Booth's diary, one man stands up and presents a missing page of John Wilkes Booth's diary. Thomas Gates, Ben's great-grandfather, is mentioned in the page. It shows that Ben's great-grandfather could have been a person involved with Abraham Lincoln's murder. When doing more research, the conspiracy takes Ben, Abigail, and Riley to Buckingham Palace(which they break into). It takes them to a book in the White House(which they break into also)and they even steal a page from the book. But in order to see more from the book, their choice is either get elected president or kidnap the President of the United States. Which do they choose? It's obvious. The conspiracy then crosses to Mount Rushmore and they even mention the JFK conspiracy. Could Ben clear his family's name? Or will his family be known as the descendant of Abraham Licoln's murderer? Intel to Increase the Chip Market Share - AMD has been cast out of the top 10, as everybody has expected.
By: Bogdan Botezatu, Hardware Editor

Enlarge picture
Gartner have released today their report regarding semiconductor revenues for 2007. According to it, the undisputed leader in chip sales is Toshiba, that achieved a 28 percent increase. The report did not reveal a spectacular turn in semiconductor sales, since it is almost identical to the iSuppli estimates that the market analysts released early this month.

Intel rapidly caught up with what the company had lost in 2006, when AMD was still competitive. Intel's presence in the top 10 shows serious growth in chip sales. In 2006, Intel had a 9.5% decrease in revenues, as AMD was making a strong presence on the market. This decrease had a heavy impact on Intel's market share, which dropped from 14.7% to 11.6%.

This year, Intel recovered from the handicap and improved its revenue by 8.2% to $32.9 billion, which raised the company's market share to 12.2%. "Intel’s growth came primarily from strong shipments of mobile PCs", Gartner said. "Armed with a strong product lineup for enthusiast desktops and servers, Intel regained lost share in those markets from AMD."

The number two in revenues is Samsung, who managed to earn $20.9 billion from chip sales, which brings the company a 7.7% market share. Texas Instruments went down due to the poor revenues in 2007, that decreased by 4.2% to $11.5 billion. Texas Instruments massively produced chips for Nokia, but, in order to avoid shortages, the mobile telephony manufacturer decided to buy from other suppliers, too.

"Semiconductor vendors need to watch the performance of their end customers even closer as a major part of the industry becomes increasingly tied to consumer spending patterns", Andrew Norwood, research vice president at Gartner, said.

AMD is not listed in top ten chip manufacturers anymore. According to iSuppli, AMD reached $5.7 billion in chip revenues, which sends the company back to the 11th place. Gartner and iSuppli made the same estimations for 2007 and put the total revenue in the semiconductor business between $270 billion and $271 billion. The 2006 results were estimated at about $260 billion.

few technology news:

Air conditioning:::

Summary: Air conditioning units in your home have to be properly sized to fit your home. Your heating and AC contractor (HVAC) figures out how many supply ducts and return air ducts need to be in each room for the best air flow.

I find it interesting how some of the coldest parts of our nation get hot - and I mean steamy hot - in the summer months. Ask any elderly person who still has a fairly crisp mind and he will tell you what it used to be like without air conditioning (AC) in the summer months. Yes, AC is a relatively newer innovation for the residential home. Tens of thousands of older homes that still stand in the U.S. were built without it. But I am convinced that your next new home will come with AC as standard equipment, not an option.

But don't think for a moment that the AC in your new home is going to work perfectly and keep all of the rooms in your home pleasant and comfortable. To achieve that goal your builder and heating and AC contractor (HVAC) have to engineer a system that is tailored and fit to your home like a custom suit or dress. Unfortunately, poor builders and HVAC contractors often install AC systems like clothes bought from the rack at a discount store.
The first step in the process is studying your actual building plans. Most of the local distributors who actually sell the AC equipment have special computer software that can analyze your plans. The software studies the compass orientation of the house, the sizes and types of windows and doors, thickness of wall and ceiling insulation, number of occupants, special appliances or lighting that generates extra heat, etc. to determine what the heat gain of your new home will be. With this number, they can specify the correct equipment that can adequately cool your home.

Strangely enough, two identical homes on the same street can end up with slightly different equipment. The primary reason being compass orientation. The house that has more window and door glass surface area facing due west will almost always more cooling capacity. The equipment size is measured in tons with 12,000 Btus of cooling capacity equaling one ton. It was determined long ago that it takes 12,000 Btus of energy to melt a ton of ice. Equating this to your new home, if the calculations show your house has a total heat gain of 59,750 Btus, then you need to make sure you have a 5 ton AC unit. It is that simple.

But the proper sized unit doesn't mean you will be comfortable. The amazing software that computes the overall heat gain does so by looking at the individual heat gain of each room. This data is extremely important as it tell the HVAC contractor how many supply ducts need to be placed in each room and most importantly the size of the pipes feeding those outlets. Think of fighting a large house fire with a garden hose. It doesn't work because you aren't putting enough water on the fire. You need to pump in enough cold air into each room to offset the fire or heat gain that is occurring within the room.

Getting the cold air to each room is not as easy as it sounds. The large fan within the air handler in your basement or attic creates pressure much like wind blowing against a sail on a boat. This static pressure needs to be maintained within the entire supply duct system. To do this the HVAC contractor must reduce the size of the main supply duct after every two or three branch runs run towards the individual rooms. If the main duct remains the same size, there is simply not enough energy left in the remaining air to push the cold air to the rooms farthest from the air handler.

I have news for you, we still are not finished. What happens to the hot air that is in each room? It needs to be sent back to the air handler where the heat is extracted. To do this, your builder and HVAC contractor need to make sure a return air duct is located in each room, preferably seven feet high off the floor. Ideally this return air duct should be on the opposite side of the room from the supply ducts. As the air handler is operating, it is both pulling air into the return ducts and pushing out an equal amount of air through the supply ducts. By placing these different ducts far apart, anyone standing in between the ducts feels the cool air floating over their body.

Beware of builders who do not understand these concepts. The HVAC component of your home is very important. It is what creates and maintains the artificial climate within the four walls of your new home. The HVAC part of your home is perhaps that last place to trim costs if the budget is running a little high. Be sure to specify top drawer HVAC equipment. If at all possible, try to tour a home that is under construction. Look at the overall HVAC equipment and ductwork. Pay attention to see if the main supply duct decreases in size. That is a good indicator the HVAC contractor is likely on top of his game.

The Lake House DVDRip (2006)

If I read one more negative review of this movie that takes it to task for being "implausible," I'm afraid I will lose it completely.

I have to ask myself what these same critics (assuming they're old enough to remember it) would have said about virtually any episode of the Rod Serling classic "Twilight Zone." I think it's safe to say most of those plots were based on fairly "implausible" happenings, in comparison to our real-life, day-to-day existence.

And I'm sure Richard Donner's "Superman" movie would have felt their wrath as well, since everyone knows people can't fly.

"Implausible." Good grief.

"The Lake House" is a romantic fairy tale -- and a darned good one, too. It's NOT confusing or hard to understand at all, assuming the viewer has more than two ounces of comprehension skill.

To me, the recent film it seems closest to in subject matter and style is "Frequency," which I also enjoyed tremendously.

And yes -- call me crazy, but the things that happen in "Frequency" are fairly "implausible" too.

And, oh yeah -- since I don't really believe angels have to jump through ridiculous hoops to get their wings, I'm guessing these same Scrooges have no use for "It's a Wonderful Life," either.

I'm Not There DVDRip (2007)

Haynes' adventurous biopic of Bob Dylan, which uses six actors of both sexes and several races ranging in ages from 11 to 50, is both exhausting and fun to watch. It's also hard to describe. But let's start with those six and the characters or facets they portray. Arthur (Ben Whishaw) is the Dylan who incarnated Rimbaud and serves as a kind of narrator whom we see smoking and giving ironic answers to some kind of inquisition sporadically throughout the film. Woody (the wonderful young Marcus Carl Franklin, an amazing a singer and actor) is a precocious rail-hopper with a guitar (labeled like the real Woody's, THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS) and tall tales that start with his claim that he's Woody Guthrie. Woody's scenes show him rescued by a black family and a white family and performing with country black musicals. He represents the early shape-shifting Dylan in search of an identity and telling a lot of lies along the way.

Jack (Christian Bale) is the Dylan who became a hit in Greenwich Village and went into the South and sang "The Ballad of Hattie Carroll" and other protest "folk songs,"—the high-profile "political" Dylan who spearheaded a movement and became famous with his brilliant early LP's. But Jack doesn't want to be typecast and "betrays" his adoring public and his lover and folksinging champion Alice (Julianne Moore), a Joan Baez stand-in seen in later "interviews." Jack disappears and his place is taken by Robbie (Heath Ledger), a young actor in New York who becomes famous for starring in a 1965 film depicting the vanished Jack. Robbie meets Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg) in a Village coffee shop and falls in love, and a turbulent ten-year marriage follows, winding up painfully at the time of the Vietnam War's end.

If Jack represents the cast-off early style and Robbie represents Dylan's family life, Jude (Cate Blanchett) is Dylan the artist, quintessentially as seen in the mid-to-late Sixties when he toured England (an event notably chronicled by two Leacock-Pennebaker documentaries)—and shocked his audiences, some of whose members felt betrayed and shouted "Judas!", when he shifted from solo guitar and harmonica to more personal songs with loud rock accompaniment. Jude's segments are partly borrowed from Pennebaker, but largely consist of gorgeous black and white scenes deliberately and "churlishly" (Haynes' word) imitative of Fellini's 8 ½.

Jude's new style is admired by Allen Ginsberg (David Cross) and underground groupie Coco Rivington (Michelle Williams) and he becomes internationally famous. But he continues to be misunderstood by the protest music old guard and conventional journalists like the British TV host Mr. Jones (Bruce Greenwood)—who's incorporated into a music video for Highway 61 Revisited's "Ballad of a Thin Man": ". . .something is happening here /And you don't know what it is, do you, Mister Jones." . .

Jude and Arthur articulate the early Dylan's challenging, ironic stance to the public, but Jude is exhausted on tour and his nihilism leads him to an existential crisis.

He's reborn symbolically in Pastor John (Christian Bale again), who's moved to Stockton twenty years later and become a born-again preacher, singing his own gospel songs. Finally the last version of Dylan appears in Billy (Richard Gere), in full retreat from the world—till threats to destroy his town of Riddle cause him to enter public life again. This sequence evokes a Sixties historical western in which Pat Garrett (Bruce Greenwood) is a character.

This is only the barest outline of the two-and-a-quarter-hour film, in which various "Dylan's" are woven in and out. Maybe the reason why I found Woody's sequences delightful and Billy's colorful but wearying has to do with the latter's coming two hours later. But Gere and his sequences evoke Dylan less well and are puzzling to interpret. Blanchett's in contrast are, of course, the most conventionally straightforward. She's the only one who successfully mimics the physical appearance and the speaking voice of the artist (unless Whishaw does a better job with the voice). But Blanchett's mimicry is intentionally undercut (and the biopic conventionality of films like Ray avoided) by having Jude be played by a woman—which was planned by Haynes in his screenplay before he even chose his actor.

The method Haynes has chosen avoids cliché. This is still a biopic, but it's a sophisticated one; and the fractured portrait is well justified by the nature of its subject. Dylan has always been a shape-shifter; some of his permutations were left out, such as the period of the orthodox Jew and JDL supporter. But it's intelligent to see Dylan the man, the husband, the artist, the political being, and the religious being as completely separate entities because no simple biopic sequence can really dramatize the complexity of such an artist and such a protean existence. Haynes' film makes you think about biography itself, as well as giving imaginative shape to aspects of Bob Dylan no non-fiction account can really provide.

Maybe it's the daringly experimental methodology that led Dylan himself, approached through his eldest son Jesse,to grant Haynes both the musical rights and the biographical rights. Haynes has chosen a multifaceted and original way of using Dylan's songs. Only Franklin actually performs them with his own voice. Otherwise the soundtrack mixes original Dylan recordings with existing covers, new ones by people as widely various as Ritche Havens, Iggy Pop, John Doe and Sonic Youth, and other music, including, appropriately for the 8 ½- esquire sequences, Nino Rota. There is a voice-over narration by Kris Kristofferson. Haynes worked on the screenplay for years, and then collaborated with Oren Moverman.

Not for mainstream audiences or be prime Oscar bait, but a challenging, fun watch.

Shown in the press screenings of the New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center 2007. Haynes was present fort a Q&A afterward with J. Hoberman of the Village Voice, which revealed that the director is an intelligent and articulate man and who knows his Dylan.

My Blueberry Nights CAM (2007)

Wong Kar Wai's English-language debut is a home run, thanks to his superior craft and thanks to the remarkable group of individuals he has brought together, from his star-studded cast to Ry Cooder on lead guitar and Darius Khondji as director of photography. Khondji is the lonesome lens man who made Pollack, Allen, Fincher, Boyle, Polanski, and Bertolucci look so fine, and he is at the top of his game as he makes Wong Kar Wai's trademark layered look shine like never before. Singer-songwriter Norah Jones' acting debut is impressive, as is Rachel Weisz' performance in the part of the Southern Belle, keeping the dialect coaches busy. Natalie Portman, cast against type, may be the prettiest face in Hollywood, but she tries very hard and, predictably, fails to come across as a trashy gambler. She even slips out of her fake accent twice: Once when she wakes up in bed with Norah Jones (understandable) and again when they split ("You're hopeless"). Similarly, Jude Law is unconvincing in the part of the philosophical bartender. I know everybody loves him, but I just don't see what they see. My money is on David Strathairn and his touching portrayal of Arnie, the quiet drunk. I wish they had kept his tab open a little longer and cut the lame Las Vegas leg of the script.

Elizabeth The Golden Age R5(2007)

Another Elizabeth I film? Why not? The Elizabethan Era's, indeed, a fascinating periods in English history - an era when England was relatively well off compared to other nations – even if its wealth was unevenly distributed!

Director Kapur interestingly puts dramatic and chilling appeal and emphasis on Elizabeth's Golden Age to reveal her personality and struggles to keep her throne and save her country from falling into the hands of conspirators and invaders. Does he give his audience any insight into the Golden Age when English Literature, poetry, music, theater, architecture, scientific and technological advancement, and exploration expansion flourished? Nope. His film does offer some interesting hints that women did enjoy the freedom of movement (ah ha, even a queen's closest and dearest lady-in-waiting could play cuckold to her mistress' favorite man!) and that competing interests and ambitions of colonial powers made it easy for ambitious sailors to legalize acts of piracy! Serious crimes could well resort in severe tortures. Director Kapur does stress that she was the "peoples" queen!

The story continues from where Cate Blanchett's young, flighty, and reckless Elizabeth made her finale masculine-like entrance in the prequel, "Elizabeth", as the Virgin Queen with her face heavily laced with the 'white-as-milke' make-up - an image of a queen ready to lead her citizens.

At a deliberate slow pacing, the introduction with its scenes, characters and their dialog prepare the audience to receive Elizabeth as the Queen with a more focused, more rigid personality, in charge of hers and her country's destinies. Yep, a woman with ready suitors, but offering a sense that she is wedded to her Empire! She seems very philosophical in her ideals and yet we see her court filled with sorts of political characters. Elizabeth, then, is seen with roving eyes, easily distracted by the presence of attractive men. Indeed, it's a crafty way to introduce Elizabeth before Director Kapur plunges his audience into a compelling tale of treachery, assassination attempts and romance that affects the Virgin Queen during her reign.

The film carries a mix of intriguing historical facts, legends and myths in ways that one can only expect history teachers of English public schools to apply to make their lessons interesting, or hear from gossipy English peers, from history classes, wanting to impress their friends with stranger-than-fiction tidbits and hearsay of those times. This film does promise a refreshing tale to grasp! There are those tongue-in-cheek whims and antics that mischievously provoke thoughts of the political and religious changing tides of modern times. Director Kapur has certainly avoided the creation of a history epic, based on dull, dry substance!

Blanchett is magnificent in her strange, enigmatic and multi-dimensional character, constantly faced with the challenges of her foes plotting and counter-plotting to take her down at her Court, in her government, and, from foreign lands. She's seen as almost as a brutal ruler at times and on her consistent guard in her determination to hold on to her throne, alternating between her seemingly vicious whims, her heroism and tangled romantic emotions! Yet, she comes off gracefully as a person who has the heart to forgive. Oh yes, there's also that scene that prompts me to think of Joan of Arc! It's not hard to want to cheer for the Queen in her determination to fight against the religious intolerance, barbarism and fundamentalism of the Spanish Inquisition. Spain was a very powerful Catholic foe and the Church did try to destroy this Protestant Queen and to restore England back to Catholism!

The battle in the calm-to-storm scene is exhilarating to watch. We also witness her struggles in her attempt to balance her duties to her country and her vulnerability to infatuation and tempestuous relationship. Clive Owens superbly handles his role as the dashing Walter Raleigh – indeed, one of the most colorful and controversial character of the times and of whom English history has spun numerous tales about. This film also charts Raleigh's colonizing dreams, his involvement in a love triangle, his sweeping in and out of the Queen's favor and his immense dislike for Catholics - that did historically determine his fate beyond this film's exposure. Geoffrey Rush returns as the loyal and polished spy master, Sir Walsingham and historically seen as the man who attracted conspiracy theories. Hhhmh, was he responsible for the birth of modern espionage? He's truly fascinating to watch. This film has a great stellar cast of actors who don't disappoint. There's so much on-screen chemistry oozing out between characters in this film. Oh yes, the villains are so agitating and annoying to the core.

The background music soundtracks come across as dramatically bold and nail-biting, poignant at times, and emotionally mystifying at others- appropriately matching the many guises, moods and whims of the Virgin Queen – the cold and strong and always majestic personality vs .her sentimentally vulnerable images - and also effectively reinforce the moments of gripping horrors of the events witnessed or felt. The sounds do have an interesting mix. Some of the scenes really deliver visual cinematic effects that remind me of the paintings of the period. The somber settings work beautifully to support and give intensity to the horrifying scenes and moments. Just love the way the sets and backgrounds are crafted to avoid overshadowing the characters. Oh yes, I love the color schemes presented in this movie to bring credibility to the scenes! The naval battle and Sir Walters' underwater escapade are so fabulously and stunningly crafted - without going over-the-board with extreme flashy special effects and colors to highlight the events.

I was captivated from beginning to end. Oh yes, this film does entertain, sending me on a delightfully exciting spell-bound journey in my attempt to separate legend and myths from historical facts. Oh yes, this film will make English history fun to browse all over again. Yep, I was absolutely entertained!!!

New Organic Materials for Making Solar Cells
- Six percent improvement in conversion

Solar cells use the light of the Sun to produce electric current, through an effect known as the photoelectric effect or the Hertz effect, due to its discovery by Heinrich Rudolf Hertz. It was first explained by Albert Einstein using the wave-particle duality of the light, work which gave Einstein the Nobel Prize for Physics (and not the Theory of Relativity as most people believe).

The wave-particle duality says that
certain forms of energy can exist in a dual form at the same time, and addresses the inadequacy of classical concepts like "particle" and "wave" in fully describing the behavior of objects, various interpretations of the quantum mechanics theory trying to explain such a paradox.

Although a wave-particle duality is hard to explain, Einstein postulated that light is formed of small quanta called photons.

A solar cell is made generally of silicon-based chips. When exposed to light, the photoelectric effect takes place inside the chip. A quanta of energy, of e photon is absorbed by the atom, giving it enough energy for an electron to escape. An electron escaping from a silicon atom will positively charge the atom. Electric energy has been produced. By linking in series multiple solar cells, a higher electrical voltage can be obtained, and used to power certain electronic devices.

A newly produced organic material promises to convert 6 percent of the solar energy absorbed, meaning double the efficiency of the current silicon based solar cells. They are essentially plastic, can be cheaply manufactured and even be painted onto a surface.

The problem is that though the researches that manufactured the organic material claim the world record for the most efficient way of converting solar light into electricity, they have not yet allowed the evaluation from an independent team.

Keith Emery of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, has looked through some of the reported data and found that it violates known physical laws, making the discovery claim invalid. The values that show extreme improvement might have been changed to influence how the program will be financed in the future.

The Mark Of Cain (2007) DVDRip

A seemingly accurate portrait of the British Army immediately post combat, but drawn into the turbulence of post war Iraq, with the start of sectarian fighting, and bombings. Based on the experiences of two young lads, and their squad, in Basra in 2003, after the fall of Saddam Hussein, and the legacy as they return home. Many people may find the home scenes just as poignant as the Iraq scenes. An interesting angle on how young people often try to block out negative thinking. There are many moral issues to be drawn from this film. Recommended.

Eastern Promises *XviD* - DVDRIP - DiAMOND

The mysterious and charismatic Russian-born Nikolai Luzhin is a driver for one of London's most notorious organized crime families of Eastern European origin. The family itself is part of the Vory V Zakone criminal brotherhood. Headed by Semyon, whose courtly charm as the welcoming proprietor of the plush Trans-Siberian restaurant impeccably masks a cold and brutal core, the family's fortunes are tested by Semyon's volatile son and enforcer, Kirill, who is more tightly bound to Nikolai than to his own father. But Nikolai's carefully maintained existence is jarred once he crosses paths at Christmastime with Anna Khitrova, a midwife at a North London hospital. Anna is deeply affected by the desperate situation of a young teenager who dies while giving birth to a baby. Anna resolves to try to trace the baby's lineage and relatives. The girl's personal diary also survives her; it is written in Russian, and Anna seeks answers in it. Anna's mother Helen does not discourage her, but Anna's irascible Russian-born uncle Stepan urges caution. He is right to do so; by delving into the diary, Anna has accidentally unleashed the full fury of the Vory. With Semyon and Kirill closing ranks and Anna pressing her inquiries, Nikolai unexpectedly finds his loyalties divided. The family tightens its grip on him; who can, or should, he trust? Several lives - including his own - hang in the balance as a harrowing chain of murder, deceit, and retribution reverberates through the darkest corners of both the family and London itself.

No Reservations 2007 DVD-rip

This movie had all the potential and makings of a great feel good, great love story...the cast is perfect, the visuals work, the original premise works, the characters work....but the story moves from one chess move to the next in a most predictable way...not one character in the movie has any depth or has any depth explained by the director. All we know about Catherine Zeta-Jones character is she is obsessed with her world....nobody is allowed in and nobody challenges her world...that much is obvious....but the remaining characters all have their own dimensions that are really never explored or exposed....Aaron Eckhart's character had so much more to offer to the story but wasn't allowed, Abigail Breslin's character is so easy to understand that her performance comes across somewhat predictable and phony....in the end everything reverts back to the forced turbulent world of Catherine Zeta-Jones which the audience never totally falls for....honestly, her turbulent world is not much more than a portrayal of a selfish, self obsessed, spoiled lady who most people would not have much time or sympathy for in the real world. The director needed to make her a hero and never does....in the end, it is Eckhart's character that ultimately wins because he wins.

Not a lousy movie, just a movie that could have been a lot better with more depth of personalities allowed in, explained and exposed.

Cheers

Wild Wild West (1999)

im West is a guns-a-blazing former Civil War hero. Artemus Gordon is an inventive U.S. Marshal who excels in disguise. When the United States is threatened by psychotic Confederate Arliss Loveless, President Ulysses Grant teams the duo up to bring him to justice. On a hazard-packed train journey from Washington to Utah, West and Gordon must combine their skills to best Loveless and his diabolical machines.
Legless Southern inventor Dr. Arliss Loveless plans to rekindle the Civil War by assassinating President U.S. Grant. Only two men can stop him: gunfighter James West and master-of-disguise and inventor Artemus Gordon. The two must team up to thwart Loveless' plans.
One day in the wild, wild west, a famous scientist is found dead. Or better: Decapitated by a devilish device, as it seems. Special Agent Artemus Gordon, quite inventive himself, finds out about the man's last sight and is forced to team up with James West, a man who relys on nothing but his gun. They first suspect General "Bloodbath" McGrath to be responsible for the killing, but as he's not bright enough to invent the flying decapitation device himself, a more evil mastermind behind the scenery is soon proven to exist. Dr. Arliss Loveless, who, by the way, has kidnapped the nation's best scientists, seems to plan on taking a major part of the country as his personal property. But Dr. Loveless did not spend enough thoughts about possible intervention from two men, who may get a little distracted by the sudden appearance of beautiful Rita Escobar, daughter to one of the abducted scientists.

Marilyn Monroe: The 1948 Stag Film

One Monroe stag film remains in dispute, however. Also dated from 1948, this unnamed 16mm hardcore short shows a Monroe-ringer screwing a mustached man on a couch. According to a 1980 Penthouse cover story, a print was discovered that year by a Swedish photographer and subsequently publicized in adult magazines and tabloids worldwide.

"Here, in grainy celluloid," Penthouse wrote next to copious frame-enlargements, "may well be the still unglamorized sex goddess the public never knew, before plastic surgeons, stylists, and designers transformed her into the mythical Marilyn Monroe. It's a thought to fire the imagination of every man who ever dreamed of her, a fantasy come to fruition." Another print of probably the same film garnered headlines in industry trades when it surfaced at a Spanish festival for film collectors in 1997.

Those who argue the actress is Monroe point to declassified FBI files from 1965 detailing that Joe DiMaggio offered $25,000 for a print of a "French-type" movie depicting Monroe "in unnatural acts with an unknown male."
